Our Club was founded in 1902 and we've been down into the vault to bring you a few highlights from the print collection. We also reprint a report of the first General Meeting from 1903 and an old Club Rule Book at the foot of the page ...

  • Editor's note - if you find the monkey picture unsettling, as I do, remember that this image was taken nearly 60 years ago and people's sensibilities change.

Members might be interested in these archive documents - firstly a copy of the Ilkeston Arts Club Rules which was unearthed during an archaeological 'dig' recently. Its date is uncertain, but it seems to pre-date N&EMPF, which would make it at least 1950. I think this means that if I pay fifty two and a half pence I can be a Vice-President ... secondly is a report of the Club's First General Meeting in 1903. Fancy a 'conversazione' about wood turning, anyone ...?
