The Annual Single use camera competition
for the Barbara Mallard Trophy
This competition is open to all members of the Club, whether they regard themselves as ‘photographers’ or not.
Photographs from any make and type of disposable film camera are allowed and we hope that this will encourage members who have never or rarely entered a photo competition to ‘have a go’, particularly our artists. In 2009 and 2010, the winners were members usually known as painters rather than photographers.
No experience is needed - it’s a great leveller as expensive camera equipment or computer software can’t help you.
To enter, please submit up to three 6x8 inch enlargements of your photographs taken using a single use (disposable) camera. Photos should not be mounted, and your name and the title of the work should be quoted on the rear of the photograph. An arrow showing which way up the work should be displayed is always useful.
You may not interfere with the camera in any way (ie to produce longer exposures) and filters are not allowed. The camera's own flash may be used if necessary.
The 2011 competition will be held on 24th February. Judging will be by an independent N&EMPF judge. You can bring your entries along on the night or pass them to the Photographic Secretary.
The winner gets the Barbara Mallard Trophy and the top entries are displayed at the Annual Exhibition.
Do please have a go. Any queries, please contact Grant, the Photographic Secretary (see 'contact us' tab above for email).
